This series of lesson plans developed by the Queens/Nassau chapter of the National Alliance on Mental Ilness (NAMI) is designed to be used by teachers in a classroom setting. Students will learn about the biology behind mental health, the various mental health treatment options that are available, the warning signs of a mental health disorder, and how to overcome stigma. These lesson plans are designed for students in upper elementary, middle school, and/or high school.
