Despite the strengths of American Indian and Alaska Native families and communities, suicide remains a devastating and all too frequent event, occurring at disproportionately high rates. Indian Health Service is partnering with leadership at the tribal, federal, state, and community levels on a new suicide prevention website for providers and the public to learn about key risk factors. The website provides comprehensive resources for healthcare providers and patients, media campaign collateral, and valuable strategies on how to begin a conversation about suicide.
