How to Talk to a Child about a Suicide Attempt in Your Family

Year: 2017

The Rocky Mountain Mental Illness Research, Education & Clinical Center (MIRECC) for Suicide Prevention (www.mirecc.va.gov/visn19/) have recently developed a resource for all families who may be facing a suicidal crisis. The "How to Talk to a Child about a Suicide Attempt in Your Family" booklet/DVD provides practical advice for speaking to children at three developmental stages: preschool, school age, and teen. It is freely available both virtually (www.mirecc.va.gov/visn19/talk2kids/) and in print (www.mirecc.va.gov/visn19/orderform/orderform.asp).
