Green Day Crowd Singing Bohemian Rhapsody – Hyde Park
October 29, 2018
Last week was a particularly horrific week in America. Make no mistake – the violent rhetoric coming from the Trump Administration is having the caustic effect so many of us have warned against. However, I remain optimistic that reason will prevail in the end, and it will be because people from the right, the left, the middle, and those outside the mainstream will find their way back to dialogue. Since we always start Friday Update off with a musical selection, I think it most appropriate to feature 65,000 + fans at a Green Day concert singing the classic “Bohemian Rhapsody” by Queen. Allow yourself 5 minutes and 49 seconds to be embraced by this joyous crowd of people from all walks of life, as they come together in unity and song. The humanity is still there, Network faithful. Never forget that. Okay, take just under six minutes before continuing your day and recharge the humanity that exists within you. Enjoy the video, celebrate the goodness that is in you, and then get to readin’ Friday Update, cuz we got work to do!
My passion is helping to shape policy and practice in children’s mental health. For the past 40 years, my journey as a mental health advocate has traveled from volunteering at a suicide and crisis center, professional roles as a therapist in an outpatient clinic, in-home family therapist, state mental health official, Board Chair for a county mental health program, and national reviewer of children’s mental health systems reform efforts. As the founder of the Children’s Mental Health Network (2009), I lead the Network’s efforts to grow a national online forum for the exchange of ideas on how to continually improve children’s mental health research, policy and practice.
