IT’S CONNECTED. By its very name & purpose, CHHCS puts mental health in a broad context. A visit to the healthinschools.org web site provides documents & tools related to children’s mental health but also reminds the viewer of other resources in schools – teachers, front-office staff, nurses, school-based health centers – who can and should be part of any school-based mental health initiative.
IT HAS RESOURCES TO HELP SUSTAIN EFFECTIVE SERVICES AND PROGRAMS. See their recent pubs on mental health financing:
IT OFFERS PRACTICAL ADVICE. CHHCS worked with 15 sites across the US to support immigrant and refugee students and their families. The web site shares tools from the program. Here’s a sample:
IT IS A ‘ONE-STOP SHOP’. CHHCS gathers valuable information on funding opportunities, children’s health policies, and current media stories about children’s health and education.
IT INFLUENCES THE ‘INFLUENCERS’. CHHCS shares information, advises, and consults with a number of audiences who influence policy and funding decisions.
