CMS published a proposed rule on April 5th that outlines the training and meaningful access standards for navigators and others who will help educate and guide consumers through the health care exchanges. “Navigators will be an important resource for consumers who want to learn about and apply for coverage in the new marketplace,” CMS Acting Administrator Marilyn Tavenner said in a statement.
We will be reviewing the proposed rule and preparing comment over the next few weeks. Remember that comments need to be in by 5/6/13. This is a critical component of health reform implementation and has significant impact for those in the navigator role, and even more important for those receiving Navigator services. Don’t fall asleep at the switch on this one folks.
