Children’s Mental Health Network joins 3,000 organizations to urge Congress to avoid sequestration
July 15, 2012
On July 12, the Children’s Mental Health Network joined nearly 3,000 organizations in delivering a letter to Congress urging leaders to avert sequestration by adopting a “balanced approach to deficit reduction that does not include further cuts to non-defense discretionary (NDD) programs.”
Joining the Network in this effort are national, state, and local organizations from all U.S. states, territories and the District of Columbia representing children and families, among others. All these organizations share a common, nonpartisan purpose of protecting from further cuts the core federal government supports provided to states and local governments, and key safeguards for youth, families and public safety that make up NDD spending.
Read the NDD sign-on letter here. The Network encourages you to share the letter with your respective networks and most important, Members of Congress.
