Isaiah: My Experiences and Challenges
More resources from our friends at Child Mind Institute:
Isaiah Walker, a Think Different Diplomat, discusses his experiences and the challenges of growing up with a learning disability and ADHD.
Growing up in Harlem, Isaiah Walker was challenged by LD and ADHD throughout his school career at Thurgood Marshall Academy and Northfield Mount Hermon Preparatory School. Once he arrived at Columbia University, though, Isaiah found Eye to Eye—and discovered the difference that LD/ADHD mentoring could make in his own life and the lives of his mentees. Last spring, Isaiah graduated with a major in Comparative Ethnic Studies and an African American Studies minor. As a Think Different Diplomat, he has spoken at Hunter College, NYU, the National Mentoring Summit, and numerous public schools. He is currently working as an educator in the Great Oaks Charter School Tutor Corps.
