Okay Network faithful, no time to relax. Continue contacting your elected officials to express your dismay at the looming sequestration. In a recent update from the Coalition for Health Funding, a telling comment from a congressional staffer is worthy of repeating here:
- Staffers are still not hearing enough from the NDD community (while those fighting for defense are a constant presence in congressional offices)... As one staffer noted, “I know you all have it in you. Between January and April I don’t sit down. I’m in back-to-back meetings all day and I’m bombarded by sign on letters, Dear Colleagues, report language requests, calls from constituents. I don’t know why organizations aren’t applying the same level of intensity to sequestration as they do to annual appropriations lobbying. You have a lot more at stake.” A good question, indeed.
So, there it is. Get busy. Go to our sequestration page and take action. If you can get to DC to make a personal visit, all the better.
