SAMHSA Disaster TA Center Looking for Feedback From Parents and Teachers

May 23, 2012

SAMHSA is interested in getting feedback from parents and educators on a guide they have developed around talking to children about trauma and disasters. This is a great opportunity for Network members to weigh in on the development of this important publication.

Here is the message from the coordinator of this effort, April Naturale, PhD, Senior Advisor, Disaster Technical Assistance Center, SAMHSA

  • Thank you for agreeing to review the “Tips for Talking With and Helping Children and Youth Cope After a Traumatic Event: A Guide for Parents, Caregivers, and Teachers” tip sheet. Your expertise in parenting, caring for or teaching children and youth makes your feedback extremely valuable to us at the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration’s Disaster Technical Assistance Center (SAMHSA DTAC). We greatly appreciate any comments you are able to provide as they will help to strengthen the final document and allow us to provide the best information possible.
  • Please complete the attached survey and email it to April Naturale by June 4, 2012 at anaturale@icfi.com or fax it to 774-207-0259. Please feel free to contact April at 508-246-5895 if you have any questions.

Okay Network, let’s help them out.
