Network faithful who are considering undergraduate or graduate school or are parents of youth on the cusp of making "next steps" decisions might want to check this out. The project -- Education Index -- is a comprehensive and informative resource that systematically sorts out the available undergraduate and graduate programs available today in the U.S. They use publicly available numbers from the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES), and strive to present them in a simple and easy-to-digest way. Their desire is to make it easy for you to pick the best college you possibly can with this index: a college that fits your financial, social and educational interests and goals.
Okay, there are a lot of college selection services out there, so what makes this one different? What we like is that they are committed to lowering the information barrier, encouraging a new wave of first generation college students to consider the opportunities that graduate school can provide. Inspired by Black History Month, The Education Index is reaching out to groups that are statistically underrepresented in universities today. So far, over 200 universities and governmental agencies have utilized this database project for their communities.
