Little Children, Big Challenges: Incarceration

0 Comments | Posted

Sesame Workshop has done it again with another excellent resource as part of their "Little Children, Big Challenges" series. Check out the new video and toolkit that tells the story of Alex, whose dad is in prison. We at the Network are so excited about this resource that we are partnering with Our Children's Place in Chapel Hill, North Carolina to chronicle how they are using these materials in their work with incarcerated parents and their families. We will keep you updated.

Here is even better news - All of the resources developed by Sesame Workshop are available to you for free - just download what you need from their website. They have resources for providers and caregivers, a great video library, tip sheets and more.

And if you have an organization like Our Children's Place in your area, be sure to show them some Network love. Children with incarcerated parents face significant pressures and strains and their mental health needs are often overlooked. We need more viable groups like Our Children's Place in every community.

Watch and listen to Alex's story in the video below and then be sure to visit the Sesame Workshop website to get more information.
