The Technical Assistance Center on Social Emotional Intervention for Young Children (TACSEI) recently hosted a webinar, Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports from Preschool to High School: A Conversation about Implementation (August, 2012), which is now available for viewing online. The webinar features a discussion with Glen Dunlap, Lise Fox, and George Sugai on the key elements of Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) and implementation features within early childhood programs and K-12 schools.
About the Panel
- Glen Dunlap is a research professor with the University of South Florida (Tampa, FL) and the University of Nevada (Reno, NV). He works on several research, training and demonstration projects in the areas of positive behavior support, child protection, early intervention, developmental disabilities and family support. Glen has served as a teacher, administrator, researcher and university faculty member. Glen lives in Reno, Nevada, and is currently conducting research on interventions for young children’s challenging behaviors.
Lise Fox is a professor with the University of South Florida. She is the Principal Investigator for the OSEP funded Technical Assistance Center on Social Emotional Intervention for Young Children (www.challengingbehavior.org), and a Co-Director of the Florida Center for Inclusive Communities (a University Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities). She is also an investigator with an IES-funded research project examining the implementation of the Pyramid Model within preschool classrooms. Her research is focused on in practical approaches to addressing issues surrounding the inclusion of young children with problem behavior in community settings, individualized positive behavior support, program-wide PBS, and family support.
George Sugai is Professor and Carole J. Neag Endowed Chair in the Neag School of Education at the University of Connecticut. His research and practice interests include school-wide positive behavior support, behavioral disorders, applied behavior analysis, organizational management, and classroom and behavior management, and school discipline. He has been a classroom teacher, program director, personnel preparer, and applied researcher. Currently, he is Co-Director of the OSEP Center on Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports, Director of the UConn Center on Behavioral Education and Research, and Co-Principal investigator of the OSEP Center on State Implementation and Scaling-up of Evidence-based Practices.
