Gathering of Native Americans Builds Resiliency Among Native Youth in the Bay Area

This post describes how the Native American Health Center has been delivering SAMHSA’s Gathering of Native Americans (GONA) curriculum to urban native youth. Recognized by SAMHSA as an effective culture-based intervention, GONA—and its Alaskan counterpart, the Gathering of Alaska Natives—helps communities establish a safe and supportive environment where youth can learn how to “… thrive, grow up in balance, and pave the way for healthy futures.”
