To develop a more culturally and linguistically competent healthcare workforce for Californians, the Office of Statewide Planning and Development (OSHPD) funds programs encouraging economically/educationally disadvantaged and/or underrepresented groups pursuing health careers. Mini-Grants fund programs that encourage diversity in the health professions through an annual Request for Applications (RFA) process. This year OSHPD will fund applications from two categories:
- (A) Health Career Conferences and/or Workshops and
- (B) Health Career Exploration.
$201,000 is available for 15 total awards of $12,000 each (Category A) and $15,000 each (Category B). The RFA is now available and has been posted on the Mini-Grants webpage. Applications are due by February 21, 2014. A technical assistance webinar will be offered on February 13, 2014. Register to attend the webinar here.
