Building A Thriving Children's System of Care: Engage Families & Youth To Be Your Partners

0 Comments | Posted

FYRTThe Family & Youth Roundtable out of San Diego, CA has just launched a successful training and technical assistance program that supports family youth receiving services in developing the skills to become your partner in advancing your Children System of Care.

Since the inception of the Roundtable over fifteen years ago, many system transformations have occurred in San Diego County. There has been a shift in provider perception from blaming families to actively seeking family/youth input and advice. Traditionally siloed programs such as  Child Welfare, Probation and Behavioral Health are breaking those silos down by increasingly developing joint programs, grant initiatives and strong executive partnerships. Most important, behavioral health decision-making forums in San Diego County have seen a consistent rise in the number of families and youth involved at the program, practice and policy levels.
