We continue to dig into the conundrum known as the block grants. We have been reviewing two helpful sites with much state level data about how block grant dollars are distributed. The challenge is that it raises more questions for us than providing answers. So, we are resisting the urge to provide Network faithful with a more robust list of recommended comments to SAMHSA (Due September 13) until we can do some more homework (read our past posts here). Hang in there with us. We want our commentary to be as comprehensive as possible.
For the data geeks among us (present company included), here are two links for you to peruse this weekend.
- The first link provides 2010 Mental Health National Outcome Measures (NOMS) data for each state.
- The second link takes you to the reports from each State's mental health agency where, under the Finance subheading, you will find a question on the proportion of the State's block grant that is used for children's services.
