The Foundation for Youth Investment, an initiative of the Pacific Forest and Watershed Lands Stewardship Council, is inviting nonprofits in Northern and Central California to apply for Impact Fund program grants to support efforts to get youth outdoors.

The FYI Impact Fund is designed to provide youth-serving organizations with the resources they need to connect underserved youth between the ages of 13 and 18 to the outdoors. This round of funding is open only to organizations with annual operating budgets of more than $250,000. (Organizations with smaller budgets may be eligible for the FYI Catalyst Fund.)

These grants have the potential to provide resources to overcome some of the obstacles and barriers identified in FYI's background research. The foundation hopes these grants will improve access to high-quality outdoor experiences, enhance the cultural relevancy of the programming offered by the grantseeking organization, and/or create new methods to reach underserved youth. These funds may be used for but are not limited to dedicated programming or operations, program staff, program development, and capacity building.

Applicants must be a California tax-exempt 501(c)(3) organization or a public agency, school district, or federally recognized tribe; or have an eligible tax-exempt organization serving as fiscal sponsor. Applicant organizations must have been in operation for at least one full calendar year.
