Waxman recommends Biden consider mental health parity in gun debate
The Network was pleased to see that Representative Henry Waxman (D-Calif.), the top Democrat on the Energy and Commerce Committee, is encouraging that the Biden gun violence task force recommend more research applying a public-health perspective to gun violence and greater mental health coverage for people in the United States, specifically encouraging full implementation of the Mental Health Parity Act, and the closing of gun-safety loopholes.
