NIDA seeks input on 2016–2020 strategic plan

December 25, 2014

Strategic Plan coverNIDA is revitalizing its Strategic Plan to provide a framework for the research it will support over the next five years. On December 10, 2014, NIDA released a Request for Information (RFI) to seek broad public input on the research priorities to be included in the plan.

The current NIDA Strategic Plan was published in 2010 (see below).  Since that time, there have been major advances in the science of drug abuse and addiction. Therefore the Institute has begun a planning process to develop a revitalized Strategic Plan for 2016–2020. NIDA seeks to harness the latest research technologies and apply them to the ever-evolving substance abuse landscape.

NIDA invites input from researchers in academia and industry, health care professionals, patient advocates and advocacy organizations, scientific or professional organizations, federal agencies, and other interested members of the public.
