Hi, I’m Scott, the Executive Director of Children’s Mental Health Network. That’s me in the picture. I consider myself the facilitator of the collective voice that is the Children’s Mental Health Network. The concept is simple – bring together the best minds across the spectrum of involvement with children’s mental health – parents, youth, researchers, policy-makers and community leaders. Provide a forum for all of this wisdom to be shared and discussed in a way that honors all sides of issues, so that you, the reader, can make informed decisions.
In addition to our rockin’ website, I write a weekly “Friday Update” that combines information, insight, and action that all interested in improving services and supports for youth with mental health challenges and their families. Yes, it is a lot of work, but I am “all in” with this quest, just as you are.
The Children’s Mental Health Network is supported by the honor-system, which means that we need each other:
•You donate what you can afford for the information we provide each and every week. You choose the price.
•We will keep our integrity by never accepting donations that stop us from speaking freely about children’s mental health.
•I'll send you a thank you note for the donation -- and more, if you pay more.
•I will send you a tax-deductible donation letter to serve as a receipt.
I quit my job to give this publication the attention that it deserves. I don’t take a salary from the Children’s Mental Health Network (never have) and I rely on donations from our supporters to ensure that the Network stays viable. I am trusting you a lot, but I think it's the right thing to do. The alternative doesn’t exist, because the alternative is accepting money from the same sources that we plan to report on and about.
Please donate as much as you can, as any amount is greatly appreciated.
If you can't afford to pay, signup to receive the full benefit of a subscriber! The Children’s Mental Health Network will never charge for any information we distribute. We are a collective voice!
